Introducing the Masjid Al-Furqaan Blog

بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ

السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ

Masjid Al-Furqan has officially started a blog. It was something that was recently decided as a beneficial part of the website. We wanted to create a space to give people connection to the masjid, outside of the masjid. We welcome you all to it and really hope you enjoy what we share.

When I heard about it, I thought this was the perfect opportunity to take part in something that would allow me to share my love for Islam and the masjid. It would also allow me to do this through my joy of writing. To me this blog is more than just a blog. To me it’s a way to unite people, talk to people and hopefully inspire people. Now that may sound a little dramatic and a little over the top, however, it’s always important to aim high. You know what they say,

‘Aim for the moon, if you miss, you’ll land among the stars’.

Personally, I’m not particularly fond of that quote. In my opinion, the stars are a more worthy aim. So instead, I’ll give you an Islamic and a generally better view.

Abu Hurairah ra narrated: “The Prophet ﷺ said: …so if you ask Allah for anything, ask Him for the Firdaus, for it is the last part of Paradise and the highest part of Paradise, and at its top there is the Throne of the Most Gracious (Allah), and from it gush forth the rivers of Paradise.” (Bukhari)

If the Prophet , the greatest person among all of mankind, encouraged the sahabahs to aim high. If he encouraged them to always ask for the best, then who are we not to do the same. Not just in islam, but in all aspects of life.

For this blog, Inshallah the aim is to talk about anything that we believe needs to be heard, or people want to hear about. Other things we hope to do is catching you up on sister/brother circles. We want to be able to store them so we can go back and remind ourselves of what we spoke about. Hopefully, Inshallah we will also give suggestions on things to do in the masjid, in other masjids or even just halal things to do in Leicester among many other things. We hope this blog will be something that everyone enjoys and can view as beneficial.

May Allah allow us to grow higher in imaan together and use our knowledge to benefit one another. Allahuma Ameen.
