Easter Holiday Youth Course

We started April with our Easter Holiday Youth Course, which ran from 6th April to 8th April.

The course was split into two age groups: 9–12 years and 13–16 years.

Alhamdulillāh, the programme was very successful, with around 30 young people in each group. The course gave our youth a chance to benefit from structured learning, positive activities, and time together in a safe environment connected to the masjid.

The programme concluded with a football session at St Margaret’s football facility, giving the youth an enjoyable end to the holiday course.

London Educational Trip

On the 10th of April , to conclude the holiday activities, we organised an educational trip to London.

During the trip, Al Furqan Centre received a Certificate of Excellence for Best Masjid, and our youth also became finalists in the football competition.

This was a proud moment for the centre and for the young people involved. It showed the positive impact of giving our youth opportunities to learn, travel, compete, and represent the community in a good way.

Dawrah ʿIlmiyyah — Intensive Islamic Lessons

On the 1st of april We also held our Dawrah ʿIlmiyyah, an intensive Islamic learning programme covering important Islamic texts and topics.

The programme included Bulūgh al-Marām with Ustādh Anas, Ḥā’iyyah of Ibn Abī Dāwūd with Ustādh Liban Abdi, and a lecture by Shaykh Abdulhaq Turkmani.

This gave attendees the opportunity to benefit from structured lessons and reminders during the holiday period.

Day 1 of the Dawrah ʿIlmiyyah began with beneficial lessons and strong attendance.

Sisters’ Weekly Circle & Baytuna

Our weekly sisters’ circle continued throughout April, covering beneficial topics such as “Strengthening Our Connection with Al-Musawwir.”

On 10th April, the sisters’ circle also introduced a creative theme with mini-canvas painting, allowing sisters to combine learning, reflection, creativity, and sisterhood in a relaxed environment.

April also saw the full launch of our new Baytuna programme. The programme included snacks and tea, creating a warm and welcoming environment for sisters to discuss important topics.

One of the topics covered was “Spiritual Bypassing — When Sabr Becomes Suppression.”

This programme gives sisters a space to reflect, learn, speak, and support each other in a meaningful way.

Mothers Monthly Programme & Umahaat

On 13th April, the masjid held the Mothers Monthly Programme.

The topic for this month was “What Will Happen After Ramadan?”

This monthly programme includes a special speaker, Ustādhah Aziza, as well as a tafsīr session.

The mothers also continued their monthly support for the masjid. This month, they contributed £1,250 and helped bring in 18 new direct debit sign-ups.

The Umahaat programme also continued in April, covering different topics for mothers and sisters. This month, the programme welcomed a new guest speaker, Ustādhah Nasteeho.

May Allah reward them and place barakah in their efforts.

On 7th April, Ustādhah Aziza also covered an important book titled “Rulings Pertaining to the Purity of a Muslim Woman.” She has an ijāzah in this book directly from the author, making this a valuable opportunity for sisters to study the topic with proper grounding and care.

Online Lecture with Shaykh Abdulbaasit

On the 26th of april We also hosted an online lecture via Zoom with our beloved Shaykh Abdulbaasit.

The lecture was titled “Change Your Mindset: Discover True Success in Life and Deen.”

Alhamdulillāh, this allowed people to benefit even if they were unable to attend the centre physically.

Barashada Af-Soomaaliga

Our partnership programme, Barashada Af-Soomaaliga, also continued at the centre.

We encourage our community to hold on to their language, culture, and identity, especially for the next generation.

Kids Circle

On 19th April, we held our Kids Circle, where the children covered the story of Prophet Dāwūd عليه السلام.

These circles help children connect with the stories of the prophets in a simple, engaging, and beneficial way.

Fatawa with Shaykh Abdulhaq Turkmani

On 14th April, we introduced a new programme: Fatawa with Shaykh Abdulhaq Turkmani.

A dedicated number was made available for the community to send in their Islamic questions.

This is an important service, giving the community easier access to reliable Islamic guidance.

Projects Completed in April

New Air Conditioning Unit — £3,600

Alhamdulillāh, the broken air conditioning unit, which had not been working for several years, has now been replaced.

This was one of the projects collected for during Ramadan, and the work has now been completed for the benefit of the masjid users.

The initial estimated cost was £3,000, and the final cost came to £3,600. The increase was due to additional wiring and installation work that became necessary during the job.

The external unit has also now been properly secured outside the masjid. Previously, it was inside the building, which caused unnecessary heat inside the masjid and risked causing further damage over time.

This project was completed for the benefit of the masjid users, with the support of the masjid users.

—————————————-

New Wall-Mounted Fundraising Machines — £650

We also installed two new wall-mounted fundraising machines at the centre.

The total cost was £650.

These machines will make it easier for the community to donate and support ongoing masjid projects.
